More Information

Overview

Europa Wools is a long-established, family-run business based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Since 1988, the company has been a key player in the global wool trade, supplying over one million kilograms of wool each year to clients around the world. As one of the UK's leading stockists, Europa Wools has built a reputation for quality, reliability, and a deep commitment to the textile industry.

The Challenge

Due to continued growth and increasing demand, Europa Wools had outgrown their original premises, creating a need for more efficient use of space in their newly acquired warehouse and head office facility. Managing Director Richard Morsley sought a practical solution to expand their operational capacity without the expense and disruption of relocating or extending the building.

Our Solution

After an initial site consultation and assessment, we were commissioned to design, supply, and install a bespoke mezzanine flooring system tailored to Europa Wools’ needs.

The project included:

  • A main mezzanine floor covering approximately 160 square metres, designed to accommodate both storage and operational activities.
  • Full 60-minute fire rating, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and providing peace of mind for long-term use.
  • Installation of a standard Part K compliant staircase, offering safe and convenient access to the upper level.
  • A smaller mezzanine floor in the adjoining warehouse unit, connected via a formed wall breakthrough to enable seamless movement between spaces.

The Result

The new mezzanine system has significantly increased usable floor space without compromising the workflow or layout of the facility. By taking advantage of the vertical headroom, Europa Wools can now:

  • Better organise stock and improve inventory management.
  • Allocate space for office use, packing, or processing if needed.
  • Maintain flexibility for future expansion as business demands evolve.

Managing Director Richard Morsley praised the swift installation and minimal disruption to operations, highlighting the value the new structure has brought to their day-to-day logistics.
