More Information

Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross was a huge redevelopment project to revitalise part of central London which had fallen into decline and comprised of modern housing, hotels, leisure and retail space. As part of Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports Group the Outsiders brand acquired a prime position in the development and immediately identified a need for a mezzanine floor to hold stock. Their first call was to Doity Engineering, as they had fitted out numerous stores and warehouses in the past. Along with the architects, Doity provided a design which was approved by the landlords and put into production.

Access to the site was difficult as it was a first-floor retail unit but the Revlok mezzanine floor system is ideal for sites like this being manufactured entirely from pre-galvanized cold rolled sections which can be carried by the installation team. Timing was essential as well as a quick turnaround due to the mezzanine floor being the first part of the shop fit, both of which were handled without issue by the team at Doity Engineering.

“Having used Doity Engineering for several projects including retail outlets around the country we knew their Revlok mezzanine floor would be ideal for our new London store at Coal Drops Yard. The team at Doity Engineering delivered the project to a very high standard, on time and within budget and we will definitely use them again in the future”
